    • Flumpool
Spent time with the pop rock band flumpool on one of their previous tours - if you watched Season 1 of my other TV show Japan Mode then the following photos will seem familiar. Flumpool is an immensely popular band in Japan - their music and posters are all over the place. Since their first single Hana ni Nare back in 2008, they have released a ton of single […]

    • Mirai Suenaga Doll
A month ago, I wrote an article on how to mass produce your own products. The post was rather popular and was picked up on many sites and social networks around the world - could have been because I posted it on April the 1st and folks didn't know whether it was true or not. Well as we say in these neck of the woods - "April Fools come true" ^ […]

Maple country here I come.

Last year really wanted to take a trip north to Canada. Planned to hop on a car and visit the capital – Toronto, Montreal, and on my way back to stop by Niagara falls. But considering that hellish petrol prices that we had last summer, whole trip could tear a huge hole in my budget. Instead I spent summer scowing around Catskill mountains.

Now, in the middle of the winter, petrol isn’t that pricey, so it was decided to spend New Year holidays in Montreal. sounds like a nice idea to me, at least there will be snow there, and just maybe a whole lots of it. Man, I’m so very much sick and tired of spending New Year without snow.

So I’m packing right now, surely will be quite cold there, took several warm sweaters with me. Will depart overnight and will be there by dawn. Looking forward for a fun time there…

1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam: full burst mode. Asembly complete.

12-27-09_MGStrikeFreedom_Progress_01
First time building an MG kit. Second time building a Gundam, heh. Started a little bit slow. Took me about two days to assemble whole kit. Darn, so many pieces, and that gold plated parts, have to be careful not to scrape the paint.

Another Pre-Christmas Acquisition

Recently, I’ve introduced myself to a Gundam modeling. As it tunned out to be, this hobby is addictive as hell!

Shortly after fully assembling my first model, I ordered another three. Using those Christmas online sales in full.

My biggest acquisition so far, and my first Master Grade Gundam that I shall be putting together – Striker Freedom Gundam “Full Burst Mode”. Actually, package arrived yesterday, but I was too involved with the kit, to scramble a posting. Writing this a day later have different views on the build.
Peculiar fact is that, at first I didn’t want to paint this Gundam at all, giving it a second thought, I have to drop some paint on it no matter what.
As far as the other two kits go, I have something in mind for them as well.

Way to build a snow mountain.

Back overseas I do remember snow being loaded on trucks and taken outside the city to melt. Here, shovel trucks and huge tractors just pile it all up somewhere in the corner. Here’s one of several gigantic snow mounds on the parking lot of a local shopping mall.

Vocaloid attack.

First order from AmiAmi – a set of Nendoroid-Petit by GoodSmile Company.

And then it really started to snow.

It is true what they say: “Be careful what you wish for.” In previous article I was elaborating on how we finaly got some snow this season. And here we have it, and whole lot of it. Was literaly digging out my car this morning.

Night in the City.

Well, seems like it had become a habit for me to go out to the City almost every weekend. Not like I don’t like it, it’s just uncommon to me. And just this afternoon we finally got snow in New York City, it started snowing around 2 o`clock in the afternoon, we’ll probably get around 1.5 to 2 centimeters of snow tonight.

Window shopping in the City.

Once a month every Tuesday New York Exchange User Group Meet takes place at Microsoft offices on Manhattan. Couple of months ago I had a pleasure of becoming a member. Haven’t closely used Exchange server in any of it`s versions ‘till senior project came along and I had to deploy one in production environment. It was somehow easy to master, though it is so much more to learn about it’s livers.
Clocked out off work early this morning and went to the City to see Christmas decorations, specifically Lord and Taylor store windows. It has become a tradition for Lord and Taylor, Marshals and alike, to decorate their windows with holiday themes.

So, the build is over. Spent about 6 hour over two days on this Gundam, care to remind that was my first build, but everything went smooth, though.
