    • La Cittadella Kawasaki
La Cittadella [ラ チッタデッラ] - a slice of Italy in the heart of Kawasaki. Stylised to look like a small town in Italy, La Cittadella contains a cinema complex, concert hall, shops and a load of restaurants - especially Italian ones. La Cittadella is also home to the annual Hallowen parade too. Today wifey and I go for walkies around the area. You can see a bit o […]

How do you dispose your old Hard Drives?

There were times, when Hard Disk Drives were small and expensive. I do remember myself hogging megabytes of free space, burning CDs and DVDs. Now it’s much more convenient to buy a NAS and few 1.5 Terabyte HDDs, slap them on the network and forget about endless DVDs, for now…

On the other hand what to do with old Hard Drives? Crushing poor pies of electronics, putting an end to their misery, is always an option. But I came up with something more subtle and involving.

A modified picture frame from IKEA turns an old Hard Disk Drive into a fine tabletop decoration.

Next on the list is connecting some sort of 12v. battery pack and a button to spin the Hard Drive. Anyone has an idea on how to do it?

How do you count how many anime titles you’ve watched…

Zun_beer

Dialogue is as follows:
Kouhai: Sempai, how do you keep the count of how many anime titles you’ve watched?
Sempai: Quite simple. Every time I finish watching the last episode, I drink a can of beer for the creator’s health. Write the title on the can with permanent marker. And add it to the collection.
Sempai: Do you want to see my room?

And what about you?

Tank Barges into Fort Tilden and Breezy Point. Part 3.

It is certainly true what they say that memories tend to fade over time. Looking back on my trip, I find it hard to remember all the details. Teaches me a lesson, though, to post right after the event. How to find time for all that, I wonder.
Picking up from where I lest the story hanging. Left that god forsaken, fake surf club, went around the block and started heading for the beach.

Few block pass and I saw it – a small path, heading towards the ocean. It looked like a stairs to the heaven, so do speak. According to the signs dogs don’t go to the heaven after all.

Tank’s favorite supply depot.

For quite some time I wanted to do a write up about my favorite Japanese super market that we have near by. There are 3 Japanese market places that I know of. 2 of them are on Manhattan, and going there is a pain in the neck. There is no parking there at all, and dragging all the purchases on the train is not a very good option either. So I go to Mitsuwa Marketplace.

It is not exactly around the corner, though. About 35-40 minutes driving cross Manhattan and you are in New Jersey, another 10 minutes north and I’m in the town of Edgewater, New Jersey, parked in front of Mitsuwa.
