    • Anime Expo 2014
Anime Expo 2014 took place a few weeks ago in Los Angeles at LACC which was attended by over 80,000 anime/Japan fans from all over the world. For the past few years I've been helping out as staff and while I don't get to spend much time in the exhibition hall or watch panels, I do get to spend time with the most awesome volunteers who bring you AX […]
    • Mirai Retronium
The initial sales of Smart Doll in June earned us more revenue in just a couple of days which would have previously taken us half a year to generate. Now we can hire more hands on deck, move to bigger offices (finally) and start something which I've always wanted to do - make games. Mirai Retronium (ミライレトロニアム) is our new game making studio which will fo […]
    • Tsukishima Monja
If you are travelling in Tokyo then you will want to try some of the local traditional grub. There is small man made island inside Tokyo Bay called Tsukishima [月島[つきしま]] filled with restaurants which serve a dish called Monjayaki [もんじゃ焼き] (sometimes just called "Monja"). If you are going by public transport then just get off at Tsukishima station o […]

    • Robot Pulley Systems
For the past few months we have been working on a different approach to building Smart Doll Automatic Version - using a system of pulleys which are controlled by servo motors - rather than having servos placed in all the limbs. The main problem we faced with the servos in the limbs was the lack of torque needed to be able to move the limbs especially when th […]

Despicable me. +Outing in the city.

This afternoon, me and my friends went for an outing in the City.
First grabbed a animation movie – “Despicable Me”, Coming back home, was quite pleased to find out that this weekend it topped box offices with $60.1 million in sales – twice, what the produces expected!*
Movie is really great, highly recommend! Just please take you time, while you at the theater – ending credits are hilarious!

Snow aftermath photo walk. Fun in the snow.

Was around lower Brooklyn – Bensonhurst area, snapped several shoots of the aftermath of the yesterdays “epic”, according to weather blokes, snow storm.

Scenery here, drastically differ from the City’s. Sanitation blokes here will just plow the streets and leave snow on the side to wait for the good times to come.

Photo “Everydations”.

Everydations – a notion that I came up with to underline, photos of mine that don’t really fall under any feasible categories, random stuff so do speak.

Earlier that week was on Manhattan to get some art supplies in china town around Canal street, back streets around this area drastically differ from what an outsider may think of shiny and sparkling city of glass and concrete.

1/100 Strike Freedom Gundam: full burst mode. Asembly complete.

First time building an MG kit. Second time building a Gundam, heh. Started a little bit slow. Took me about two days to assemble whole kit. Darn, so many pieces, and that gold plated parts, have to be careful not to scrape the paint.

Way to build a snow mountain.

Back overseas I do remember snow being loaded on trucks and taken outside the city to melt. Here, shovel trucks and huge tractors just pile it all up somewhere in the corner. Here’s one of several gigantic snow mounds on the parking lot of a local shopping mall.

And then it really started to snow.

It is true what they say: “Be careful what you wish for.” In previous article I was elaborating on how we finaly got some snow this season. And here we have it, and whole lot of it. Was literaly digging out my car this morning.

Night in the City.

Well, seems like it had become a habit for me to go out to the City almost every weekend. Not like I don’t like it, it’s just uncommon to me. And just this afternoon we finally got snow in New York City, it started snowing around 2 o`clock in the afternoon, we’ll probably get around 1.5 to 2 centimeters of snow tonight.

Window shopping in the City.

Once a month every Tuesday New York Exchange User Group Meet takes place at Microsoft offices on Manhattan. Couple of months ago I had a pleasure of becoming a member. Haven’t closely used Exchange server in any of it`s versions ‘till senior project came along and I had to deploy one in production environment. It was somehow easy to master, though it is so much more to learn about it’s livers.
Clocked out off work early this morning and went to the City to see Christmas decorations, specifically Lord and Taylor store windows. It has become a tradition for Lord and Taylor, Marshals and alike, to decorate their windows with holiday themes.
