Window shopping in the City.

Once a month every Tuesday New York Exchange User Group Meet takes place at Microsoft offices on Manhattan. Couple of months ago I had a pleasure of becoming a member. Haven’t closely used Exchange server in any of it`s versions ‘till senior project came along and I had to deploy one in production environment. It was somehow easy to master, though it is so much more to learn about it’s livers.
Clocked out off work early this morning and went to the City to see Christmas decorations, specifically Lord and Taylor store windows. It has become a tradition for Lord and Taylor, Marshals and alike, to decorate their windows with holiday themes.

All dolls here made with paper-mâché, look quite pretty, but I like resin figures more.

It is impressive how detailed those displays are. Here is a ginger bread house.

Most of the characters on display are moving. I don’t like videotaping; don’t even have a camcorder, so have to satisfy you with photographs only.

After spending about half an hour around the displays I started heading towards Microsoft offices, which are about 10 blocks away.

Not far from Lord and Taylor there’s Bryant Park. And I decided to stop by.

In wintertime city arranges skating rink there, which attracts crowds of people especially on weekends.

People are dining outdoors. Under powerful heating lamps it’s not cold at all.

A working fountain in December – a bizarre sight for me, indeed.

Right across from Bryant Park there’s Kinokuniya – Japanese bookstore. It’s a pity that photography isn’t permitted inside. Plenty of tasty loot there.

Decorated their window as well.

Slowly crawling towards Microsoft offices, noticing plenty of Christmas decorations everywhere, you just look at the size of those balls near Chase bank building.

Trees in the alley are all covered with lights. A little snow would be nice, but it seems like too much to ask for.
